Click "Attend Event" to register for the course.** Spend the first weeks of summer delving into some of the best short novels of the past 150 years. Please read Sholem Aleichem’s Motl the Cantor’s Son (in the Penguin Classics edition of Tevye the Dairyman and Motl the Cantor’s Son, 2009) for the first class, Theodor Fontane’s Effi Briest for the second, Clarice Lispector’s Near to the Wild Heart (New Directions edition, 2012) for the third, and Alice McDermott’s Someone for the final session.
