Denise Horton

Founder & CEO

Denise is a proven digital marketer with 20 years of success building profitable businesses in the rapidly evolving e-commerce space. A life-long consumer of the arts, she launched Towwn to create shared moments of joy, fun and friendship at cultural events. Previously, Denise served in senior roles at Comcast, Starz Entertainment and Baxter Healthcare, leading diverse teams, in a variety of assignments from e-commerce sales to marketing management. She earned an Executive MBA from the University of Denver and a graduate certificate in Digital Media & Technology from the University of Colorado.

Jesse Weaver

Product Strategy

As an experienced product leader and designer, Jesse spent seven years as the Director of Product and UX for, guiding the company's product ecosystem as it scaled to support nearly 500,000 subscribers across thirteen platforms, along the way, receiving three Webby Award nominations for best streaming media website. Jesse currently directs the Entrepreneurial Design Studio at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he has guided over 20 teams in developing and launching digital products. 

Jesse’s favorite Art & Culture event:

Dave Chapelle live in Raleigh NC in 2000. I had been obsessing over his stand up for years and my cousin and I got tickets to see him in a small theatre in Raleigh. We drove all the way down from Maryland. I laughed so hard my face hurt.

John Myers

App Development

John began a career in software consulting in 2003, focusing on mobile devices shortly after the launch of the original iPhone in 2008. A founding partner of Tack Mobile in 2011, he now focuses on ensuring successful project execution for clients. A key component of this success is through building a talented team of software developers and designers that can execute complex projects centered on mobile and connected devices. Tack Mobile enjoyed building and continues to provide development support for Towwn’s iOS mobile application, responsive web, and the associated custom content management system.

John’s favorite Art & Culture event:

El Alumbrado in Medellín, Columbia, where I lived for a short while after college. They cover the river that runs through the city in elaborate lights and art for Christmas, as well as much of the central area of the city. The atmosphere it creates is fantastic.

Mark Hunt

Creative Director

Mark brings 20 years of design experience in his role as Creative Director. While Art Director at Starz, he helped shape and build the brand into a leader in cable TV entertainment. Mark left Starz to build Factor Creative, a design consultancy, where he partners with a range of clients, from start-up ventures, non-profits, and established companies to foster solutions building brand value and financial success. As Towwn’s Creative Director, Mark designs creative solutions to increase awareness, app downloads and app retention.

Mark’s favorite Art & Culture event:

Counting Crows in late 2000 at the Paramount Theater, Denver. I got 4 free tickets as a thank you for being a Banana Republic cardholder. Crazy right? My wife and I invited a couple friends and were 8 rows from the stage. The entire crowd sang along with almost every song. It was an incredible night.

Brenda Nesbitt

Social Media

Starting as a documentary filmmaker, Brenda moved to television at HBO, PBS, and Starz, where she rose to the rank of Creative Director and eventually VP. Brenda writes books, blogs, magazine articles, and social media content. Education at Wake Forest College, Brandeis University and the Free University of Berlin shaped a belief in good work, pursued with curiosity and humor. Honored with The Golden Lion from Cannes International Festival of Creativity, and an invitation to the Producer’s Workshop at The Sundance Institute.

Brenda’s favorite Art & Culture event:

Son et lumière at Avignon’s Cathédrale. Imagine two of us, young women touring Switzerland and Provence on a Vespa, stopping in Avignon for a story told in sound and light under a starlit sky.

Ella Gotsch

Social Media & Digital Marketing Intern

Graduating from the University of Colorado in December 2021, Ella has a passion for art and a strong appreciation for music. At CU Boulder, she is majoring in Psychology while also studying Communications and Sociology. Ella hopes to launch her career in a marketing role for a consumer brand or advertising agency.

Ella’s favorite Art & Culture event:

The Tame Impala concert at Mission Ballroom in October 2019 with my best friends and boyfriend - all of us were in shock by how beautiful the performance was. Favorite band and venue ever!

Ryan Frost

Social Media & Digital Analytics Intern

Currently a senior at the University of Denver, Ryan will graduate with a Bachelors degree in Marketing in June 2022 then earn a Masters degree in Business Analytics in 2023. Her passion for the arts as well as social media marketing have proved valuable throughout her internship with Towwn.

Ryan’s favorite Art & Culture event:

"Paris to Hollywood" at the Denver Art Museum! The exhibit beautifully told the story of the Veronique Peck’s fashion sense and influence on Hollywood.
